Angel Messenger is a P.K. from Peoria, Illinois, the home of legendary comedian, Richard Pryor.
He rebelled and left home at 16 years old. He almost dropped out of high school. But, he graduated because his Pastor and father intervened by coming to get him from the projects and taking him back to school.
He served in the Marine Corp, based in California at 18, but was injured and sent home. He spiraled out of control and ended up in county jail numerous times. He got what he calls, “jail house religion.” But, looking back he says that, “It’s what kept my mind from breaking.”
He became a father to 2 sons and had an epiphany that he was living beneath his potential. The prodigal son had returned home. He studied harder in college and got his Bachelors degree. Started his own businesses while working on 1 of 2 Masters degrees.
He received the call to preach as a child, but didn’t begin preaching until 1998. He received the call to Pastor in August of 2001. He went to the Atlanta, Ga area in 2002 to work on his music. He turned down opportunities to do secular music and alcohol commercials in 2003 to 2004. In 2005 he went back Peoria and got custody of his oldest son.
He became active in church and ministry, while raising his sons. He began leading worship, then preaching, then teaching Sunday school and then Assistant Pastor at Star of Hope Full Gospel. In 2017 he became a hip hop artist under Sony/Paul Wright III produced.
