Hi, I'm Nick Buchanan, better known online as "That RV Tech." I've spent my career working in the RV industry as a technician, inspector, educator, consultant, and content creator. Over the years I've worked in dealerships, managed service departments, operated a mobile RV service business, performed inspections, consulted with manufacturers, and helped thousands of RV owners better understand their RVs. What I've learned is that there is often a significant gap between RV owners and the RV industry. Owners are expected to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot increasingly complex RVs, yet many are never given the education or resources they need to be successful. My mission is to help close that gap. Through videos, articles, seminars, inspections, consultations, and industry partnerships, I strive to provide honest, practical, and easy-to-understand information that empowers RV owners to make informed decisions. Whether it's explaining electrical systems, troubleshooting common problems, discussing warranty concerns, reviewing products, or highlighting industry trends, my goal is always the same: education first. I believe informed RV owners make better decisions, have better camping experiences, and ultimately help push the industry toward higher standards. That's why I'm not afraid to discuss both the successes and shortcomings of manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, and service providers. Positive change starts with honest conversations and a commitment to doing better. My work has been featured across multiple social media platforms, educational events, manufacturer collaborations, and industry discussions, reaching hundreds of thousands of RV owners throughout North America. At the end of the day, I'm simply a technician who believes that knowledge should be shared, not gatekept.
